Things are looking positive for Domotex 2014, with the fair’s organiser, Deutsche Messe, reporting a very pleasing exhibitor registration tally a whole eight months out from opening day.
“Given the strong response to date, we’re feeling very optimistic about next January,” said Deutsche Messe management board member, Dr. Jochen Köckler. “The solid registration levels and the high proportion of exhibitors from outside Germany testify to Domotex’s position as a key fixture in the marketing calendar of the international carpet and floorcoverings industry.”
Always a must-see showcase for pioneering trends and lifestyle enrichments in flooring, Domotex will run next year from from 11-14th January 2014 in Hannover, Germany.
“The pleasingly high number of companies that have registered so far is a good sign both for Domotex and for the carpet and floorcoverings industry as a whole,” Jochen says. “So, if there’s one thing we can say for certain at this very early stage, it’s that our exhibitors and visitors can look forward to a high quality and very international showcase next January.”
The show will also have a very fresh and modern air about it. “We’ll be putting the spotlight on the latest trends and giving our exhibitors everything they need to stage their innovations and design highlights for maximum impact,” Jochen adds. “Domotex will have a new format that will put the emphasis on the innovations, expertise and skills of our exhibitors and enable them to more effectively engage with their key target groups from the architecture, planning, interior design and media sectors.”
Return of summit for parquet and laminate flooring sector...One of the big highlights for Domotex 2014 has already been decided – the Wood Flooring Summit will be back. The Wood Flooring Summit will be centrally located in Hall 9 and comprise a forum for speaking events and panel discussions, an exhibition area for the latest innovations, and a dining and lounge area for informal networking. It is sure to be a major draw card for senior figures in the wood flooring, architecture, and interior design sectors from around the world.

The top end of the carpet design world will be showcasing an extensive array of hand-made carpets and rugs. The displays will include a celebration of new creations for lovers of fine design and craftsmanship.
Trends and innovations for the skilled trades.....Domotex 2014 will cluster the full gamut of flooring technology in Hall 7 at a special presentation called the Skilled Trades Hub. The presentation will feature a comprehensive exhibition and supporting program for parquet recliners, floor layers, interior furnishers, painters and joiners, who will be able to familiarise themselves with the latest floorcovering materials, tools and laying techniques. Flooring technology experts will also be giving lectures and presentations on current issues and challenges facing the flooring trades.
Other special displays, such as the Carpet Design Awards, will add to the richness and diversity of Domotex 2014. “The Carpet Design Awards set the standard in hand-made carpet quality and design. The innovations on show at the Carpet Design Awards displays are definitive of the must-have colors, patterns and materials for the coming season,” says Jochen.
The program for Domotex 2014 will also include the 4th European Competition for the Interior Furnishing Trades. The competition is open to the best interior furnishers and decorators from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and South Tyrol in Italy. It is held every two years and is organized by the European interior furnishing association EuroInterior.
