Tessera Weave by Forbo made from Aquafil Econyl polyamide
17 August 2012
Combining discreet good looks with a superior environmental profile, Tessera Weave from Forbo Flooring Systems is a high-quality carpet tile for commercial, recreational, hospitality and public sector interiors, which proves that sustainable credentials do not have to come at the expense of good design.
The yarn used in Tessera Weave is made from Aquafil Econyl polyamide – which consists of 100% recycled materials, taken from both industrial and post consumer waste streams. Abandoned fishing nets are just one of the unlikely sources of waste materials that are used to make Econyl polyamide.
A highly versatile loop carpet tile, Tessera Weave is available in 19 vibrant tonal colourways and is suitable for broadloom, tessellated or quarter turn installation.
The design features a subtle linear grain that is enhanced by the use of contrasting twists of yarn – creating a richly woven appearance but in a low pile weight.
This appealing tactile quality is achieved through the use of modern spinning techniques that twist the yarn multi-directionally, as well as careful mixing of tonal highlights to add even greater depth. The result is an attractive textured finish without the excess pile normally associated with this look – making it ideal for use in high traffic applications, as well as fulfilling Forbo’s environmental commitment to green design principles.
