Recycling sees 30% rise

Carpet recycling UK reports a 30% rise in carpet waste diverted from landfill in 2012. Out of 85,000 tonnes which avoided burial, 36,000 tonnes was recycled and reused and the balance sent for energy recovery. CRUK's target is 25% landfill diversion by 2015. Last year's figure was 21.4%. The target for 2013 is 23.5%. More news from Remland Carpets
