Create Safe Stairs With Gradus’ New Microsite
15 January 2015
Contract interiors specialist, Gradus, has launched a new online resource, which offers informative advice to help users select the correct stair nosing.
According to figures from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), over 100,000 injuries are reported on non-domestic stairs each year, with 100 deaths resulting directly from falls and trips on stairs. As a result, it is vital to ensure that the latest building standards and guidelines are adhered to when installing accessories such as stair nosings.
The new mini website from Gradus is designed to show how correctly specified and installed stair nosings can help to prevent accidents on stairs, providing a safer and more inclusive environment for building users.
Anthony Roberts, Marketing Product Manager for Gradus, comments: “Whether you are installing 20 flights in a commercial office building or three steps in a doctor’s surgery, the same guidelines apply for creating safe, accessible staircases.
“Our new microsite, create safe stairs, is easy to use and full of useful information to help you install and maintain stair nosings safely.”
The site includes an illustrative three step guide to selecting the correct stair nosing, important extracts from key guidance and videos from industry experts at BRE, HSL and Reading University, each offering insight from their field of work. There is also information about how to clean nosings, a regularly updated blog covering a range of related topics, as well as further information regarding Gradus’s most popular XT profiles.
