Antron Carpet fibre continues to set trends
20 October 2013
Building on the success of previous trend forecasting, INVISTA’s Antron ® carpet fibre has once more collaborated with Global Colour Research to present new colour trends in the world of interior design for 2013/14.
The 2014 Global Colour Trend Forecast is presented by an international team of dedicated experts who research and interpret worldviews and translate these into design direction and colour innovation. The four forecasted trends, presented in the Global Trend Color Forecast 2014; Mysterious Illusions, Eccentric Icons, Magnified Cosmos and Playful Spectrum offer designers and specifiers a wealth of inspirational ideas and a beautiful palette of avant-garde colours for new projects.
Emerging as a result of uncertain times, global tensions in economic, political and financial realms have given precedence to a yearning for escape. With a nod to a shadowy world of magic where nothing is quite as it seems, Mysterious Illusions explores the intriguing appeal of murkier shades such as saturated greys, teals and black with a hint of the eerie.
Eccentric Icons presents an exciting new aesthetic with forging of old world and new, mixing classic with the contemporary for the luxury market. Taking the best of precious craftsmanship into the modern world of pared back simplicity, retro hues with a vintage 20’s and 30’s vibe such as saffron yellow and royal navy blue sit beside clean neutrals for an ageless and sophisticated style.
Celebrating the wondrous delights of flora, Magnified Cosmos is an uplifting, clean palette that sees acidic tones setting off citrus brights, for a sense of wellbeing that stems from the wholesomeness of nature. Stimulating new surface textures are also emerging, such as wet look effects inspired by dewdrops, celebrating the raw and lush beauty found in natural surroundings.
A sensuous burst of vibrant colour, Playful Spectrum ricochets off the page and introduces a playful and uplifting sense of joy. Riotous coral pinks and oranges are kept in check with the inclusion of mature shades of grey, green and brown, for a look that revels in the boundless potentials of both the digital future and dynamic movement.
“Carpet can play a central element in interior design and as a leading carpet fibre supplier, it is important that Antron® understands the impact external influences have on interiors,” comments Neil Maguire, Regional Marketing Manager, Invista. “Working alongside Global Colour Research helps us to understand emerging and future trends appearing in the sector, giving us the chance to provide carpet manufacturers and designers with a meaningful and relevant overview of future colour and design trends.”
