In this week’s blog, we are talking about wide, natural toned planks. Think warm tones, subtle grains and finishes that feel organic and natural. Wide, long planks are quickly becoming a dominant flooring trend in 2025, creating the sense of larger, spacious interiors. When comparing the wide plank to the herringbone or patterned floors, it feels a much more clean aesthetic. This trend is excellent for creating a sense of openness.
When it comes to flooring colour trends, grey is starting to fade out. We are starting to see a shift away from light woods and millennial greys, with earthy brown tones, honey oak and walnut replacing them. These rich tones, when combined with soft furnishings and subtle colour palettes, create a welcoming and cosy atmosphere.
What type of flooring options do I have?
In 2025, we are seeing a noticeable increase in the use of man-made flooring options such as laminate, vinyl and luxury vinyl tiles. Gone are the days when laminate shines with clear lacquer, instead, manufacturers have mastered the matte, grainy plank that mimics real wood aesthetics. This means that homeowners are no longer restricted to real wood and not to mention the long list of advantages of picking man-made flooring; these include… water resistant qualities, greater durability, and lower maintenance.
