Maintenance
Wool contains natural oils that are resilient to dirt and other household soiling; ideal if you have little ones around the house. This results in less time and money being spent on cleaning products, meaning that with regular vacuum cleaning, your carpet will look good for many years to come. For this reason it is very important that regular vacuum cleaning is carried out as soon as the carpet is installed two to three times a week – every day if possible, giving particular attention to areas in front of seating, and in high traffic areas, make a minimum of three passes in these areas.
One of the most effective cleaners for a twist or cut pile carpet is one with a strong suction and a revolving beater bar/brush. This will generally be an upright vacuum cleaner. This will not only remove surface dirt, but also opens up the pile to remove loosely embedded soiling.
An upright vacuum cleaner will also remove the excess fibres of a new carpet ensuring that these are not collected within the pile. The beater bar will also ensure that the pile is ‘lifted’ each time the carpet is maintained.
Sustainability
Can’t decide between a natural or man-made material? Why not have both!?
50% wool, 50% synthetic carpet brings the durability of wool with the easy maintenance of synthetic, making it one of the best value solutions for your space. If you are looking for a stylish, natural carpet but can’t afford the higher price, these mixed blends can easily pull the wool over your eyes – with an identical look at a much lower cost. They are more moth-resistant than a completely natural construction while retaining excellent insulation properties. Meanwhile, the synthetic fibres help to add an element of springy elasticity.
Just like its all-natural cousin, this wool blend works well in areas of heavy traffic such as the hall, landing and stairs, and can be continued into the bedrooms and living room for seamless interior styling. The synthetic fibres add a little extra softness underfoot, crafting a truly versatile carpet that can work for practically any application. Flexible and family-friendly, this hard-working wool blend can be easily kept clean with a natural resistance to tough stains and dirt.
